What is the best graphics card for Fortnite? It’s pretty obvious to any gamer, but not everyone is willing to spend a fortune on a graphics card. So gamers who are choosing a GPU based on a AAA title like Fortnite definitely can’t go wrong with an older graphics card like the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti. However, for the best possible experience and seamless performance, the RX 6700 XT is an ideal choice that guarantees smooth gaming even on the highest settings.
Factors influencing GPU choice for Fortnite
- GPU Price,
- Graphics resolution and required FPS,
- 60 Hz, 120 Hz, 144 Hz, 240 Hz monitor.
Resolution
Basically, the graphics resolution determines the fps in the final result. What card is needed in Fortnite at 1080p, 1440p or 4k resolution ? Test with AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, ram 16GB DDR4 3200MHz.

1080p resolution
We start with 1080p low resolution where we are above 85 fps, where the 1050 Ti stands up quite handily. Other cards above 110 fps at low settings or 70 at medium are the GTX 1650 super, GTX 1650, GTX 1060 and GTX 970. Basically, all of these cards are capable of providing a definitely satisfying gaming experience for the undemanding gamer without annoying jerking.
If we are trying to achieve framerate in top gaming monitors at maximum detail in 1080p with 144 fps or 240 fps in that case the best card for Fortnite is the RTX 4060.
1440p resolution
In this case we take the GTX 1660ti, RTX 2060 or GTX 1070 as a reference point. With the new use of DLSS, it is better to take the RTX 2060 graphics card, possibly the newer RTX 3050 at 1440p 144 Hz monitors .
If we want to enjoy the full Fortnite gaming experience at 1440p 144 Hz then we’ll pay a little extra and the RTX 4070 Super or similar performance equivalent will be the closest choice.
4k resolution
For Fortnite at 4k the ideal graphics card is the RTX 2070 and above or RTX 3060, RTX 4060 for AMD graphics cards RX 6600 XT or RX 6650 or 5700 XT. At the highest detail there is the choice of RX 7900 XT or RTX 4070ti super, RTX 4080.

Price
Another factor is the price, where with the cheapest graphics cards for Fortnite we can range with the price of a second-hand card starting from €30 for the 1050 Ti but for the ultimate gaming experience at the highest details at 1080p, the Nvidia RTX 4060 will provide the best experience with a price starting from €300, at 1440p resolution the right choice is the RTX 4070 Super with a price tag starting from 625€, and at 4k resolution the RTX 4070 Ti Super or RX 7900 XT where we are looking at a price of around 700-800€.
Although the graphics card is important for Fortnite, just as important is the processor we have in the lineup and that’s why if you are building a pc, reach for 12 generation processors for Intel and zen 4 processors for AMD for sure. Within the budget we can range from Intel’s i5 8th generation, but I recommend rethinking the i3 12th generation and at AMD at least the Ryzen 5 3600.

Recap – Fortnite graphics card
To clarify, we did a final recap keeping in mind the gamers and their ideas according to how much they are willing to spend on a graphics card.
Budget : absolute minimum GTX 1050 Ti, ideally GTX 1660 Ti or super.
Mid-range : minimum RTX 2060, RX 5700 XT, ideally RTX 4060, RX 7600 XT
High-end : RTX 4070 Ti Super, RX 7900 XT
Fortnite is a CPU dependent game and therefore a solid base is a must, at least for Intel we are around 8th generation for example i5 8400 and for AMD for example ryzen 5 3600.
